A
Brief Biography Though by no means a ‘world traveler’, this lady has seen some scenery. Family and circumstance have carried me from the obscure area around Idabel, Oklahoma during World War II, into the bay area of California and then back to the Four States Area as a teenager. Culture shock! Much as I loved the moist, salty sea breezes blowing across the bay, I loved even more the pineywoods, the country atmosphere, and the friendliness of the people in and around Texarkana. Many times, since those teenage years, circumstances have taken me away from those pineywoods and friendly people... only to return. I joke that there is one end of a strong ‘rubber band’ attached to my heel, with the other end attached to the flag pole in front of the Texarkana Post Office on State Line! Sooner or later, that ‘rubber band’ pulls me back home.
Through all my
life I have had a consciousness of God
being in control; allowing mistakes in
order for me to learn from them. I
have learned, and my life has been greatly enriched through finding out
just how wonderful and faithful He is.
Every time I have strayed He has been there to detach me from some snare
or to lead me back from where I had wandered. There’s always been the Shepherd, Jesus, to lead me
back into green pastures. God is not through with us and is, even now, making a way for us to work together as never before He always has a plan. When we seek our own way, we lose the privilege of the life He has planned for us, but when we fit into His plan willingly, He can do great things with us. by Rebecca Hervey
