![]() Have you ever heard about or read Psalm 51:5, where the psalmist David, who was a man after Gods own heart, wrote: "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me."? He was saying that he was born with a sinful nature. This is why even innocent little babies soon learn to do bad things. Its in their nature! The entire human race... each person except for Jesus Christ himself, is born with the sin of Adam in our nature.... because Adam, the first man, sinned by allowing satan to cause him to rebel against God. THE WEAKNESS, THE REBELLION, THE FOOLISHNESS OF ADAM, LET SATAN COME INTO THE NATURE OF THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE. HE OBEYED SATAN, which made him aware of the difference between good and evil, and thats when he acquired a SIN nature. Jesus came to die and pay the price so that we could be re-born and overcome that sin nature! "I think my life might be so messed up theres nothing that can change it". There was a rich young ruler who came to Jesus and asked what good thing he would have to do to inherit eternal life...(to be saved). Jesus said, "Obey the commandments; dont murder, dont commit adultery, dont steal, dont lie. Honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself." Well, the young man said that he had kept all these commandments from birth but he still must have felt lost... because he asked Jesus, "What do I still lack?" Jesus told him to leave behind everything he had and follow Him, but the young man went away very sad, because he had a lot of possessions. It sounds like he valued those possessions more than he did eternal life, doesnt it? Jesus told his disciples that it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God, and one of them asked Him, "Then, who CAN be saved?" Jesus answered, "With man this is impossible, but WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE." "I just cant seem to do anything right! Why do I do the things I do? Go back and read Psalm 51:5 again..... "Does the devil really make me do bad things ?I believe that he makes you want to do bad things, and makes you think you cant help yourself. He wants you to feel hopeless and too far gone for help, so he can destroy you, because thats his goal. Look in John 10:10..."Jesus said, "The thief (satan) does not come except to steal, kill and destroy." He tries to make people believe they cant be any better than what they see themselves or their friends or parents being. Satan is not only a thief, but a liar. God has reserved a lake of fire for satan to suffer in for eternity.... along with all those who follow satan in this life. "Whats this stuff I hear about getting saved, and how will it help me?" Jesus came to give you an abundance of LIFE. He will give you a clean heart and wipe away your sins from His records. He offers you the kingdom of God... which is righteousness, which the nature we inherited from Adam cannot and never will have. He offers us supernatural peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Its called SUPERnatural because its higher than natural. Not of Adam, but above Adam. The Kingdom that Jesus offers is a realm where only born-again human beings can enter in. "What do I have to do to be saved?" You are given a choice.... whether to give your life to Jesus and be born again, to live in Him and with Him forever ... or you can choose to hold onto your sin nature and be destroyed. You can receive either blessings or cursings in your life, depending on whether you choose to obey God or to rebel. Read Deuteronomy 28 in the Old Testament, and see in the first 14 verses all the blessing God promises to those who obey... then read the next 15 or so verses for a glimpse of the curses God promised to the disobedient. To be saved, you repent of your sinful life, turn from it, and give all of yourself to Jesus Christ. Trust Him like you never trusted anyone or anything... He wont let you down. "What if I just dont make a choice?" Then the choice that was made for you by Adams disobedience still stands. Jesus is waiting for YOU to make the decision to follow Him. He will not force you, because He wants it to be a decision from your own heart. |
