Is Today's Church What God Intended?

A Word from the Lord on
Tuesday, September 12, 2006
“The ways of the churches are not My
ways. The ways of the churches are not the way of My Church. The ways of the
churches are men’s ways, and not My ways. “Telling
the people this is how you build My Church. You must tell them. This is how
you build My Church, My Body, saith the Lord.” More >> |

The Covenant Church
New Life
for an Old Covenant
An
Online Narrative

Introduction:
This narrative
was written to be food for thought and to open the reader’s eyes to
the possibility that the scriptural references put forth in this
narrative could be signs for this time as well as in the times they
were recorded.
It is my
opinion that the Universal Church; the “Covenant Church”; the “Body of
Christ” was forced into virtual obscurity and the true church birthed
with the Son of God lies fallow. The field that was sown at the cross
and watered by the blood of those that followed is now covered with
the debris from subsequent years of continued fragmentation of God’s
word. Since its inception the true Church has moved from a united
Spirit-led covenant entity to something that has become virtually
unrecognizable. It sits as a beggar; ignored as we pass by on our way
to the manicured church landscapes skirting our multitude of temples
dedicated to the doctrines of man.
It seems as though
today’s organized churches have failed to convey the full truth
presented in scripture. And denominations have become entities to be
worshiped. Their divisive doctrines are so ingrained in the minds of
the members that any attempt to impart knowledge of biblical truths
will be ignored or refuted if that truth does not align with the
decrees of the organization to which they belong.
In my opinion, we
who may be on the eve of the second coming of Jesus are observing many
of the same legalistic behaviors that were exhibited during the time
prior to the first coming. Many of the teachings (parables) of Jesus
regarding the condition and future of the church of that day may also
apply to the church of today. In addition, it is my opinion that the
Covenant Church must be resurrected (reunited) in order for 1) this
current age to come to its rightful conclusion, 2) the Bridegroom to
return for His bride, and 3) the bride to be the bride. |
