In the wee hours of the night I awoke with a prayer on my mind... for the daughter and grandson of a friend who had written an e-mail message to me. I had been burdened for this family, and certainly want healing to come to them, so I found myself asking God to have mercy upon them.
Then it came to me… “for His
mercy endures forever”! It’s written in 1 Chronicles 16: “O give thanks
unto the Lord for He is good; for His mercy endureth forever.”… and I
began to pray that this young woman and her son would be enabled to reach
out and grasp the Lord’s mercy, that they would be healed.
In times past I can remember
praying for God to have mercy in various occasions… and had not realized
that it is written…”His mercy endures forever”. It is by His mercy we are
saved, and by His mercy we are healed. I believe His mercy is His
compassion.
When the virgin Mary sang of
the Lord’s mercy, she said… “His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from
generation to generation. He has performed mighty deeds with His arm.” I’m sure the woman who had an issue of blood believed in the Mercy of Jesus, or she would not have had faith to be healed by simply touching His garment.
That is what we must do!
Believe in His mercy; reach and touch Him… get a ‘heart-hold’ on Him; get
a revelation of what His mercy is and can do… believing that in doing so
we will receive healing. The blind men mentioned in Matthew 9:28 cried
out to Jesus…”Have mercy on us, Son of David!”.. And He asked them…”Do you
believe that I am able to do this?” and they replied “Yes, Lord”. What did
Jesus say to them then?... He said “according to your faith will it be
done to you”, and their sight was restored. As a little child I learned the chorus, “Only believe. Only believe. All things are possible, only believe.”… and with the faith of a little child we can simply believe, and receive that which we have asked for… His mercy to heal us. His mercy endures forever. Trust in His mercy! It doesn’t take any huge whopping amount of faith. Simple faith. Childlike trust. Nothing logical or intellectual… just childlike trust in the mercy that endures forever… and, be healed. |
